Product description:

Box Header are mainly mounted on PC board to connect with 2.54mm female header which is also mounted on PC board as board to board interconnection between main board and modules. For many projects, is mounted on PC board to connect with IDC Flat Cable as interior cable connection of machines.

Box headers (BH) or shrouded headers and are normally only used in combination with insulation-displacement connectors (IDC) for ribbon cables. A notch (key) in the guide box header normally prevents placing the connector (polarised by a "bump" on one side) the wrong way around.
